Royalty Auditing

Compensation for musicians and other artists often include royalties.  A royalty is a percentage of the net proceeds of sale.  The record company handles the accounting and sends you checks periodically if your music (or other artistic endeavor) makes a profit.

If you feel that you are owed royalties due to you under an agreement, the first step is to look at the company’s books and see what they really owe you.  This is known as a “royalty audit”.  Hrbek Law works closely with accountants and business managers to provide a royalty auditing service to its arts and entertainment clients.  Once we find out how much you are owed, Hrbek Law will conduct the negotiations on your behalf with the company.
