Seth Funk
Associate AttorneyAdmitted to the New York State Bar in May 2008, Seth was born and raised in Redondo Beach, California. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, while working with several local groups to promote environmental awareness. During his final semester, he worked as a campaign intern for State Representative Scott Nishimoto. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, Seth worked as a Research Assistant for the Hawaii State Legislature in Honolulu.
In 2004, Seth returned to California to attend University of San Diego School of Law. While at law school, he participated in the environmental clinic program and worked with the National Lawyers Guild. Seth excelled in legal writing and oral arguments, and in the subjects of copyright and trademark law. During his first summer, Seth spent several months in South Africa, studying human rights, South African law, and international commercial law at the University of Cape Town. Upon returning, he began working as a law clerk for Garrison & McInnis, a general civil litigation firm in San Diego. In May 2006, he moved on to Eischen & Associates in La Jolla, California, assisting clients in a wide variety of business and real estate transactions and contract-related litigation.
Seth’s primary focus at Hrbek Law is in the area of entertainment law, mostly assisting with clients in the film and music industries. He also handles website legal compliance issues for Hrbek Law’s Internet business clients, and litigation support. Seth has gained legal experience in California and New York in the areas of corporate law and business formation, entertainment law, copyright and trademark issues, commercial disputes, breach of contract and breach of warranty, employment law, environmental law, civil rights, commercial and residential real estate and insurance law, as well as civil and commercial litigation.
Seth now lives in Manhattan’s East Village neighborhood. When not at work, he plays guitar and bass, and he continues to surf, despite a climate that is colder than that to which he had grown accustomed in California and Hawaii.Education
