Following the settlement of the Bartz v. Anthropic class action concerning the unauthorized use of copyrighted books for AI training purposes, a number of authors and rights holders elected to opt-out and pursue individual claims. The resulting multi-plaintiff litigation seeks additional compensation and accountability for the alleged use of copyrighted literary works without permission.
