WNBA star with the Washington Mystics (formerly with New York Liberty), Charles won the gold medal for the US Women's Basketball team at the London Olympics in 2012 and again represented the USA in the 2016 Olympics. Charles' other passion is helping others and giving back, grateful as she is for her unique talent, and for the commercial success that it has bestowed upon her. Among her various philanthropic projects, she has funded the building of a school in Africa and founded the Hopey's Heart Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to put a defibrillator in public schools across the United States.

Tina Charles' father, Rawlston Charles, is the founder and proprietor of the legendary Brooklyn based record store, Charlie's Calypso City, and also the record label, Charlie's Records, which is the subject of a documentary film that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in May 2019.

Tina continues to develop new content for film and TV through her media company, 100th Street Films (formerly Thirty-One Enterprises).
